USA Swimming – Changing Summer Schedule
USA Swimming has already changed the Summer (long course meters) schedule for the National Team from April-August to January to August; there is much anticipation (and debate) as to how & when this change will be reflected in the schedule from Sectionals on down. Stay tuned…
Senior Dryalnds-
Due to the structure of the program (and staff limitations), we’ll be adding drylands to the senior program (Platinum & Gold) starting in March (after the SCY season ends). We’ll run these workouts in the mornings, on Monday and Thursday, from 5:30-until about 6:10-6:15 a.m., then get in and swim until about 7:10 a.m. If anybody has to get out before 7:10 a.m., that’s fine. The Silver Group was set up to run drylands from 5:00-5:30 p.m. on Monday and Thursday; we are still trying to figure out how best to incorporate that into the afternoon schedule.
Thanks for being here tonight; email me if you have any questions at erikcollins19@gmail.com

On Saturday, January 8, Navy & the University of Maryland will race each other in a dual meet at the U.S. Naval Academy at 1 p.m. Everybody at SMAC is encouraged to come watch the meet (admission is free!) and see what collegiate swimming is all about.
I'll be having a late breakfast (and maybe an early lunch) at a popular spot located in downtown Annapolis; I'll be there at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, feel free to join me for a hearty meal described by locals as "always perfect" and "a timeless classic." The Navy coach personally recommended this to me:
Chick & Ruth's Delly
165 Main Street
Annapolis, MD 21401
410/269-6737
chickandruths.com
The meet will probably last into mid-afternoon (I'll have to get right home). This is an outstanding opportunity for everybody on SMAC to see what the next level of swimming looks like. Email me if you have any questions - looking forward to seeing everybody there!

The Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club in St. Mary's is hosting their annual meet on January 21-23. There are NO TIME STANDARDS for this meet, so everybody in the Silver, Gold & Platinum groups is eligible to swim. I need to know by 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2011 if your child is interested in swimming in this meet. Please email me at erikcollins19@gmail.com by 2 p.m. this coming Thursday, January 6, so I can do the entry Thursday Night. I will notify everybody on Friday of the entry fees they'll owe for the meet. Also, I'll post the meet info (events, warmup times, etc..) on the bulletin board later today.
Lastly, there is a dual meet up at the Naval Academy this coming Saturday, January 8th, between Navy & the University of Maryland. This would be an excellent opportunity for any of our swimmers to see a higher level of competition- and hopefully, what they all aspire to reach once they've left our club. I'll be at the meet, let me know if anybody else is interested in going to the meet (admission is free), maybe we can all get lunch after the meet is over (right in Annapolis).
I hope everybody enjoyed the holidays!
