Sunday/Wednesday BRONZE GROUP "Mini-Meet" will be tonight!

Wednesday, April 27, will be the last workout for the Sun/Wed Bronze Group. Workout tonight will consist of a quick warmup- a chance for everybody to get in & loosen up, do some stroke drills & light kicking. Then, after a five or ten minute break, we'll have our "Mini-Meet!" Everybody will have a chance to race a 25 in each stroke, then at the end (if we have time), anybody can go a 50 Freestyle!

We'll have small goodie bags for everybody afterwards! We're looking forward to seeing everybody tonight at the pool!

Hello Silver Group parents & athletes!

Congratulations on a great showing this past weekend at our very first long course meters ("LCM") meet! I was very impressed with everybody's positive attitude & strong kicking in their races! Keep up the good work as we move through the summer season!

There is a meet on May 7 & 8 hosted by Columbia Aquatics Association up at Fairland Aquatic Center. This meet has a "not faster than" entry standard: anybody who has not yet achieved the "A" time standard in an event- either short course OR long course- is eligible to swim.

If anybody is interested in swimming in this meet, please email me (erikcollins19@gmail.com) no later than Wednesday Morning, April 13, by 10 a.m. and let me know. We'll have to move quickly to get the entry squared away, but if the interest is there, we'll get it done.

Looking forward to hearing from everybody, thanks for being a part of SMAC!

**Sun-Wed Bronze Group Update**

The Sunday & Wednesday Bronze Group will go one extra week, until Wednesday, April 27, to make up for the two canceled workouts earlier in the session. There will be workout on Sunday, April 24 and again on Wednesday, April 27. Both of these workouts will be at the regularly scheduled workout time.

On Wednesday, April 27, we'll have our "Mini-Meet." This will consist of a quick warmup, then everybody will have a chance to race a single 25 yard swim in each of the four strokes. At the end, if anybody wants to swim a 100 yard IM (Individual Medley- one length of each stroke consecutively), they can! Afterwards, we'll have a small goodie bag for everybody!

We're looking forward to an exciting finish of this session! If you have any questions, email me at:
erikcollins19@gmail.com.

Thanks for being a part of SMAC!

SUMMER MEET NEWS

I've heard back from the Retriever Aquatic Club, so we can enter their meet, May 13-15. The cut off times & "Eligibility Report" are posted on the bulletin board. I've not heard back yet from the folks at NBAC (June 10-13 and July 8-11), so I have no information on those meets yet.

The Retriever meet entry will have to be done by next Wednesday, April 13. I'll have those cut off times with me at the meet this weekend (or we can use converted scy times). Either way, email me by Wednesday, April 13, 2011 by 10 a.m. if your child wants to swim up at UMBC on May 13-15.

Thanks for your support of SMAC!

Attention MON/THU Bronze Group families:

Due to the late Spring Break in the public schools, we'll be having our end-of-session "Mini Meet" on Thursday, April 14, 2011.

This meet will take place right here at the pool at our regular workout time. Everybody will have a chance to warmup, then we'll go through a 25 yard event in each stroke, along with a 50 Freestyle (and a 100 IM for anybody who's interested). We'll have some light refreshments afterwards (juice, cookies, et...) We'll need some parents to help time that afternoon; if you're able to help, please come down on deck next Thursday when you bring your child to workout.

We'll have regular workout the following week (Mon & Thu April 18 & 21) for anybody who is still in town over the break.

Thanks for your support of SMAC, we're looking forward to the Mini-Meet!
